This collection of chilling short stories contains a
range of classic ghost stories. There is a simple
story where a man dies as a result of seeing a ghost.
There are two eerie stories about paintings: in one, ‘The
Ghost Detective’, a painting plays a part in setting free a
man wrongly accused of a crime; the other, ‘The Man with
Two Shadows’, mirrors a sad tale of jealousy and death.
In ‘The Dream’, a dream becomes a nightmare for the
main character. There is a story about a ghost cashier who
cashes a cheque, and another about a ghost who leads a
man to money that was lost from his family hundreds of
years previously.
