excited做形容词,主语是人,比如说我很兴奋,那么就用这个.
exciting主语是物,比如这件事情真是令人兴奋,那么就要用这个.
还有很多其他形容词用法跟他们是一致的,satisfied,satisfying,tired,tiring.加ed的是人作主语,加ing是物作主语,把握到这一点就好分辨了

形容人是ed形式，形容物是ing形式，一般是这样，但不绝对
