The Bremen “Intermedia” design team comes from the University of the Arts Bremen in the North of Germany.
We are small mixed group of students not a graphic design ‘class’.We have a photographer,digital media designers,graphic designers,3-dimensional designers and a professor from London and a guess professor from Berlin.‘Intermedia’ means crossing between disciplines and that is the way we work,to bring different contrasting points of view together.
Bremen is a typical Euroean city with cars,a tram and bus system,cyclists and pedestrians.The way to find yourself around Bermen is to follow the road traffic signs at every junction and the street sign posts and to cross the junctions only where you are permitted to by the car and pedestrian traffic lights.
We feel that the whole fabric of this magical emotional city of Venice will be destroyed if any new sign system is introduced that produces visual memories of walking in an airport or in a railway station,or shopping in a department store or walking on any normal Angol-American-European city street；or driving cars on motorways or long inner suburban road networks；or standing reading legends and arrows and signboards at every turn of a street.
We will try to show you why we feel the soluton to making a way-finding system for Venice is already there,and has been for centuries,in front of our eyes!
