12.My Home Town
My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and
is rich in fish and rice.
But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many
people had no work. They lived a hard life.
In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have
taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools,
hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The
life of the people is greatly improved.
I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working
hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

我的家乡是一个美丽的地方.它矗立在很宽的河,有鱼米之乡之称”.
但在过去的日子是一个贫穷和落后的小镇.许多人没有工作.他们过着艰苦的生活.
我的家乡是1949年解放的.从此发生了巨大的变化.街道被加宽.工厂、学校、医院、影剧院如雨后春笋般涌现出来.人民的生活是大大提高了.
我爱我的家乡.我喜欢它的更多的人.他们正在努力工作以使它还更丰富、更美丽我有一个哥哥.
