这句话,楼主这样理解,我觉得没有错
可能原文上这句话用过去时,因为accumulate 这个单词的原故吧
accumulate表一段时间连续不断地收集的结果.
一是收集的累积动作没有结束,
二是个人认为AS the evidence began to accumulate和后面专家的调查相连,是因果关系吧!
而过去完成时表示在过去某一时刻或动作以前完成了的动作.
你想明白了吗?
