You seem to assume an effective English lesson has something to do with your teaching method.Good that you mentioned "get more with less time".So who is getting more with less time?
May I invite you to change your perspective from being a teacher to being a student.What would be an effective lesson from the students' viewpoint?What would I,as a student,need to learn?Would I like to learn what is taught and why?
I honestly don't believe in teaching.There is no effective lesson unless there is SOME learning taking place amongst the learnes.
What creates learning then?
Motivation!
A motivated learner can learn anything effectively even though the learning environment may not be so conducive.Where there is a will,there is a way.
The most a teacher can do are to motivate his/her students to learn and to provide a SAFE environment so that they can explore what is possible for them.
